I've always had an appreciation for street art, although growing up in my city I never really saw much of it in the sense of actual stencils, paintings, writings, or wheatpastes. Earlier in 2010 I happened to come across a few amazing pieces that I shot. Will be posting more art as I discover it..or as it discovers me. Prettiest alley in town. (Glass Alley) 9/15 The shadows from the building behind were amazing.
Simple Symmetry. No. I did not touch those bagels.
apparently Mackelmore came down this way...

8/23/12 8/6/12 I had heard about this piece and how amazing it was. By the time I got to the spot to see it, I was so bummed to find someone had ruined such a work of art. Click on the link to see it in original form.
Stumbled upon this on the walk back...

5/24/12 Went to a lecture at the MAC last night given by well-known street artist, Swoon, from Brooklyn, NY. Such an inspiring lady and So glad our city brings in relevant artists of our time. Below are some photos I shot today of the wheatpaste mural/collab she did with the SFCC students on campus. Thank you for coming Callie! Swoon (life size boy and girl) SFCC Students

someone painting on a billboard. As we got out
and looked closer it wasn't a real person but
an installation!
GENIUS!

with a fresh coat of white paint and a
bouquet of dried pink roses attached.

6/21/11. Nice Banksy vibe. Love it.
The next three pieces below I shot this
last winter with B&W film. Just had it
developed. Almost forgot they were on
the roll...

pieces he did downtown. Went to check them
out today. So rad.

Dr.Seuss Tribute!
I've seen this bike chained up at
different locations this past year as
well as spray painted in various colors.
During winter the entire bike was immersed
in snow.
A close friend first spotted this one at
the onramp to the freeway. Got a couple
shots before it's removed.
...so good.
Love this!! Unfortunately I discovered recently that the building with the Obama/McCain piece had been demolished.
In June, to my surprise, Banksy's Exit
Through The Gift Shop came to Spokane of all places... It's a must see film if you haven't already. So inspiring!
