This week I was able to thank two Vietnam
Vets for their service to our country. One, a
black man who wore his hat proudly as he
had shopped and the other a homeless man in
a wheelchair on a local corner with a sign asking
for help. He was concerned that his beard was a
mess!
It felt good seeing the big smiles on both of their
faces as I expressed my appreciation and of their
importance to my generation. They need that
affirmation. They deserve it. It was worth the 5
minute stop. And coincidentally, 34 WWII Veterans
from Spokane flew out this morning for D.C. to
see the memorial built in their honor. How special
is that!?
